The annual session of the Assembly of our association Startup was held last Thursday.
It was a great occasion for another informal meeting and networking, this time in the beautiful space of Smartspace coworking, also a member of the Split Tech City community.
Annual reports on activities and finances from the past year were presented at the session. Additionally, it was an excellent opportunity to make ourselves aware of what we had accomplished throughout the previous year:
- expanded the community by 20 new companies
- celebrated community successes with media support
- helped members reach the best interns by organising the presentation of summer internships
- established active two-way communication with members
- provided members with special benefits by forming partnerships with relevant businesses
- better presented the content we create by improving Split Tech City’s website
- attracted new columnists and reporters and thus enriched the content we share
- officially said farewell to the pandemic by organising (only) 9 online educational events
As for the financial report, we highlight that the income in 2021 was HRK 345,896, and the expenses were HRK 226,142. The surplus income available for 2022 was HRK 103,379.
Revenues in 2022 amounted to HRK 466,458, and expenses HRK 509,645. Surplus income available in the next period amounts to HRK 60,192 (EUR 8,000).
While we’ll be changing the format of the events – there will be fewer of them, but they will include more inspirational content – this year there will be no shortage of memorable events in our organization.

We will showcase the importance of membership by creating case studies about mutual cooperation with members of the community.
Plans for 2023
Plans for this year were also agreed upon by the Split Tech City members present at the session, and we are especially happy that we have already started implementing some of the planned activities.
We will engage even more young people to ensure a brighter future for the Split Tech City community by:
- initiating the tours of local tech companies for high school and university students
- organizing the second edition of the mini PR conference “Communication Excellence“
- organizing NEXT – a free conference for high school students, university students, and young people
- informing the youth about Split’s tech scene through a monthly program on Radio Kampus – the radio station of the University of Split
- giving the young people the opportunity to express their viewpoints through our website (ex. the Croatian column titled “Thoughts of a high school student“)
- presenting our activities and the Split Tech City members with guest lectures at the faculties of Split’s University

We thrive in transparency, so the session recording can be found on our YouTube channel.
After the formal part, it was time for networking accompanied by snacks, drinks, and the performance of the Bosnian stand-up comedian Igor Drlja Iggy.
Once again, the Split Tech City team wishes to thank everyone for coming, showing support, and sharing their kind words about our work. We look forward to many new joint activities!
It’s like a dictatorship here, nobody has anything against our plans!
Toni Trivković, Split Tech City founder, president, and volunteer, happily concluded after the session was over.
